Mixing and Mastering - Jordan Smith

"We Can't Be Friends" is a song about one of the struggles of being a gay man like myself and being attracted to straight men. My feelings of fear, anxiety, and awkwardness manifest themselves with weird chord progressions mixed with a catchy and soul-influenced melody and a funky groove. It is influenced by some of my favorite artists including Steely Dan, Herbie Hancock, Jacob Collier, Thundercat, and Jordan Rakei.
